I agree with Layton. There is nothing of any consequence to suggest otherwise. Ignatieff is some kind of aristocrat. Wait until the next election campaign and the battles will be flaring up in the trenches. Layton and Harper will make mince meat of him.
Federal NDP Leader Jack Layton says he's confident the party will build on the support it received in Newfoundland and Labrador in the last federal election. Layton says the 34 % of the vote garnered in this province by the NDP was the highest across the country. He says St. John's East MP Jack Harris has done a lot to raise the profile of the party in the province. Layton says he's hopeful that, coupled with the deplorable treatment from other parties will translate to more seats for the NDP the next time we head to the ballot box.
Layton says, for now, he's focused on the next few weeks on Parliament Hill. He says he wants to see action on a number of issues before the spring session of the House of Commons concludes. Those issues include employment insurance, credit card rates and the pension situation effecting many seniors, like those in the Grand Falls - Windsor region.
