Not because the issue is unimportant, but our role to play is unimportant. Canada has almost no role in the middle east.

You couldn't be more wrong. As an imperialist power, Canada has a huge role in the middle east. And Canada is the most pro-Israel country in the world.

Canada provides diplomatic and material support to the Israeli government. Canada is prepared to assist militarily any NATO adventures in the region, as it did in Libya, and NATO and its members are resolutely pro-Israel.

Palestinian militants have fired over 200 rockets toward Israel since Friday, forcing around 1 million Israelis into bomb shelters, and the IAF has responded with a series of air strikes.

Amazing those 200 rockets haven't killed anyone. What are they - home made devices?

And furthermore the support from Canada for Israel predates 1948. And always it was conceived as a piece of an imperial whole. An outpost in 'Indian country'. That is why Canada is Israel's best friend. Settler states stick together. Moreover Canada has succeeded in ways Israel can only dream of.

That explains it!

I think tax credits for charitable organizations is a tenuous notion of "huge role". It upsets me that those charitable organizations exist for those purposes: my least favorite is the one that essentially hires mercenaries -- sorry -- pays for the tuition for those who volunteer to fight in another country's wars. But these organizations would do it regardless of the tax policy. It's just a loophole in the non-profit system that lets them do it with fewer tax consequences than if they just funneled the money directly in.

Most importantly, no NDP candidate or MP is making an issue out of this, nor will make an issue out of this. (Not NATO either, nor corporate rights.)

It's not just a matter of tax credits. You understand nothing.

And if NDP candidates or MP's support Israel's oppression of Palestinians, they are making an issue out of it. Just because you agree with them it doesn't mean it's not an issue.
