Savage cuts to arts funding by Conservative regime will kill or cripple a host of Canadian literary magazines

Today's Times/Colonist out of Victoria notes that many small literary magazines will face limb-severing cuts to funding if the rules surrounding the Canada Periodical Fund go into effect next year.

There is no truth to the rumour that Conservative Minister James Moore was heard to remark, "When I hear the word "culture", I reach for my Browning." 

 

The Editor of Malahat Review, John Barton, has started a Facebook group called "Coalition to keep Canadian Heritage support for Literary and Arts magazines".
