Say Something Nice About Your Leadership Opponent

So the NDP leadership vote is upon us, and essentially all there is to do now is wait for the ballots to be counted. We have had many passionate discussions and disagreements, and there are bound to be people unhappy with the outcome no matter what. That said, we are all (presumably) on the same side and will hopefully all be pulling in the same direction to take on Trudeau and Scheer. In that spirit, I decided to start a thread where we can say something we admire about leadership candidates we oppose. I'll start:

Jagmeet Singh has raised the profile of the party in the 905, a key region both provincially and federally. That is a great testament to his talents as a candidate, organizer, and elected representative. He took a federal riding that had never voted NDP and put it in contention in 2011, and capitalized on that success by winning the corresponding provincial riding a few months later. On the issue of race, I value his contributions where someone aspiring to high office is open about the personal feeling of not feeling welcome in his home community because of the colour of his skin. And in the video that went viral, rather than get into an argument about Islam vs Sikhism, he denounced hatred and responded with much more care, compassion, and patience than probably many of us would have wanted to.
