What can the NDP, in all political arenas, learn from Community Relations Coordinator Don Jantzen

Last evening I had the priviledge of attending "A Trribute to Don Jantzen"at the Metrotown Hilton in Burnaby. It was a wonderful celebration of Don's life with Jack Munro, Dave Barrett, Patrice Pratt, and Derek Corrigan among the guest speakers.

Don, I think better known as Mr Fix-It, spent the last 8 years working for Derek Corrigan. As a result, Don leaves after Corrigan has been elected for his third term as Burnaby's Mayor, and Cathy Corrigan just elected as a new Burnaby MLA.

It was such a wonderful uplifting celebration, and to top if off, yesterday Burnaby  was chosen as the No 1 muncipality across Canada.

What I came away with was, although Don may have disageed with many adversaries along the way, he always left on good terms with them, at least as much as the guest speakers let on last nite. Laughing
