Why can't the CBC get rid of Suhana Meharchand?

I'd get rid of Rich Terfry first and bring back Jurgen Gothe.

And can they please, please, please bring *real* journalists like Susan Bonner and Neil MacDonald back from abroad and put them in prominent roles? (Did anyone see MacDonald's coverage of the Bin Laden story - fantastic analysis.) I've had just about enough of the shallow Gen-X twitterheads who CBC passes off as reporters (and I say this as a Gen-Xer myself). Diana Swain deserves a promotion, and I think Ian Hanomansing is woefully underutilized.

Also, as obnoxious as he is, I'd love to see Terry Milewski permanently assigned to cover Harper - it would drive the Tories nuts!

I find it odd that everyone attacks the talking heads and no one wants to attack the brains who keep employing them.   The MBA class sure has us where they want us.

I find it amusing that you think that CBC would EVER fire Rick Cluff. Do you have ANY idea at all about his history with CBC? If you don't like him then don't listen to him.

He's a hack sports reporter from Ontario who proves daily he doesn't know anything about journalism. I don't usually listen to him. After decades of listening to the CBC in the morning before work he has cured me of that affliction.

I'd also like to see them can Don Cherry but jerks like him and Rick are the face of the CBC in this new millennium.

I was wondering the same thing or maybe this new babbler is a new intern protecting the great mans reputation from scurrilous accusations.

I don't think the Cluffster would approve of being so cavalier with our taxpayers' dollars, kropotkin. He would much rather invest them in a new commuter bridge or the viaduct leading to one of our two beautiful, state-of-the-art sports and truck show stadiums.

or my money, I think the frontier has looked pretty dismal since they took the axe to Avi Lewis. I mean really, Evan Soloman or George Snuffleupagus, or Peter, why don't you retire, Mansbridge? Really.

Pathetic.

I agree, Merchand gives me gas. And Murphy, well, everyone has already said what I think, YellLaughing

Oh, and in case you need a good laugh, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4VElXO93gE.

Enjoy!

I never understood why Solomon got the P&P job or The House instead of Susan Bonner who actually analyzes and discusses issues rather than acting like a high school sophmore doing an inhouse broadcast over the PA system.

Hmmm. Ok I'll bite after an extended absence from Rabble/Babble. Gosh I hope I don't offend any left of center sensibilities again.

Yes: Marchand is being unfairly singled out - she's far less obnoxious and far less political than Rex Murphy. I don't like her but that's a subjective observation of how she talks to the audience. The recent 'winner' from her was the observation by her that; "Justin Bieber will one day be talked about in the same way the Beatles are revered today". I think I nearly gagged at that point. It's not the first time she's said something fairly shallow.

No: she's not going anywhere. The Corp would simply have to move her at her present salary to another position. Not productive and not good for taxpayers. That's the Ceeb. Senority, contract, clauses etc.

I think she's playing to the format. It's morning television after all: fairly vacuous and light and fluffy like your pancakes. The CBC is telling you that you're supposed to LIKE this stuff and too bad if you don't.

Solomon's ok. He's up against that nerd-scud of the airwaves on CTV so what are you gonna do?
