Thanks for posting, Meg - I was way too disgusted yesterday to even talk about this.

Unbelievable.

There had better be an appeal. The nature of the material notwithstanding, he's not just a cop, he's a public figure. The regular rules don't really apply.

This is an attack by Canada, Quebec, and the City and Police of Montreal against the civil liberties of all Canadians.

It is hoped that Canadians can remember the actions of the Liberals and Conservatives behind these violations.

When they feel that they have to violate our civil liberties, they are not on solid ground.

Can you tell us something specific that the Liberals did in this case?

Mr Magoo, I believe the poster is referring to the Québec Liberal Party, not the Federal one.

Could be, but I'm still curious, seeing as how the Libs didn't form government in Quebec until a year AFTER Pawluck was arrested.

Or the Conservatives for that matter?

It all goes down the chain doesn't it?

There was no blowback to Toronto for the G20 atroctities. The federal government, in a better society, would have prosecuted Toronto for the violations of Canadian civil rights, and stood up for the people.

That has emboldened Liberal governments, which has in turn has taken the chains off of the local police forces and civil authorities.

This conviction was an act of fascist authoritarianism using the federal criminal code, provincial courts and the municipal police. The Mayor of Montreal, who is widely known to be a Liberal, could have at least have said something to this outrageous assault on our civil liberties.

If you claim to be a Liberal or a Conservative, and something bad happens on your watch, and you didn't do anything to stop it, the shit sticks to you and your party. For ever. Once you are a politician with a claimed political label, the reputation of that political label rides on your behaviior.

Everything has consequences.

The Liberals weren't the government when Pawluck was arrested.
