Castroller. Castroller, at castroller.com is a simple powerful idea. Take all your podcast feeds and rooll them into one great hairball of an uberfeed, or frankenfeed, as they like to say on the Genetically Modified Food podcast. It's easy. Just sign up at castroller, pick the feeds you want to aggregate and make a custom channel for yourself. The channel pulls them all together and has its own uberfeed, which is the only one you'll need from now on. This is great for a couple of reasons. First, you can create custom uberfeeds. You might have one for the gym, for long run, commutes etc. Second, if you're listening to podcasts on a small device like a cellphone or an Internet tablet (I use the Nokia N800, you know that while it's convenient to listen to podcasts that way, it's a pain to subscribe to a bunch of shows. Using Castroller, you don't have to, just subscribe to your uberfeed and watch the aggregated shows waltz in. On the N800 I use the Canola media player and Castroller is a godsend. Sure, there are other ways to create uberfeeds, pluggd.com for example. But, I like the way Castroller works, though the website is a bit janky still. So, castroller, when you need to get your life back in line, like Paris Hilton does.
Thank you for reading this story…
More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
rabble.ca has staked its existence on you. We live or die on community support -- your support! We get hundreds of thousands of visitors and we believe in them. We believe in you. We believe people will put in what they can for the greater good. We call that sustainable.
So what is the easy answer for us? Depend on a community of visitors who care passionately about media that amplifies the voices of people struggling for change and justice. It really is that simple. When the people who visit rabble care enough to contribute a bit then it works for everyone.
And so we’re asking you if you could make a donation, right now, to help us carry forward on our mission. Make a donation today.
